CH FRIO BOYS' ROCCO (3XW)(1XL)

How many times have you heard the phrase, "I have a dog that can whip that one"?I've heard it a bunch of times and will probably hear it a bunch more. Terry Townsend called us and say he bred Champion Red Rover back to his mother, "Nigerino Bitch". He felt it would be tight, but future brood-stock. We told him we would take two of them, a male and a female. He shipped us two dogs out of the litter we requsted. The very day we picked them up at the airport I made a deal with Bill Franklin of San Antonio to buy the female. As he drove away with her I Wondered why we kept the one that looked like a Basset Hound. Fortunately, looks do not play a role in good pit dogs.

TOWNSEND'S NIGERINO BITCH POR
CH TOWNSEND'S RED ROVER

You know how some dogs just fit their name?Well we named him Rocco, because he looked like a long shoreman or a Team-ster,Little did we know he would act like one. Rocco was about 20 months old before he was ever bit. Bred as tight as he was we had no plans to match the dog, but he stopped his first two dogs in rolls and we still had not seen much time out of him. We figured we would match him. Normally we would have done what we had originally planned, but we'd lost 12 straight. Some being good dogs and some that should have never got near a pit much less in one. Our losses went from 12 minutes to two hours and forty-five minutes. We never pissed and moaned, we just keep coming back, Keep scratching!! Right? I called Mr. Beene from Arkansas. I heard he had a one-time winner at 43 pounds (19.500 Kg) that he had purchased from Mr. Waggonspat of south Louisiana, "May He Rest In Peace". The dogs name was Red Man and he had won in 1 hour and 20 minutes over Johnny Griffith's Fool a one-tinme winner.

CH FRIO BOYS' ROCCO (3XW)(1XL)
I was talking with Mr. Beene and telling him we had not seen much time out of the Rocco, but that he had a better than average mouth. His concern was the fact that we had such of streak of bad luck, it was going to change eventually. He was right we. We were 2 to 1 underdogs before we washed. When we pitted, some people were throwing out 3 and 4 to 1. About 5 or 10 minutes into the fight which Red Man was holding Rocco out, Red went down on Rocco's foot and brought him to life. Rocco bit him accross the bridge of the nose hitting a bleeder. Needless to say "there went the odds makers". After 20 minutes Rocco started getting up in the chest and was doing damage. At 40 minutes you could tell, if Rocco stayed with it, he would win. Red Man was going down fast and wasn't able to fight back, so Rocco started loosing interest. He would scratch everytime and grab Red Man and put him down and stand over him while Red Man would try to to make a fight off the bottom. At 1 hour and 20 minutes Red Man did not make at 15-second count but he did scratch. Unfortunately Red Man died shortly after. Very Deep game and probably dead game. The refeere of the match is a friebnd and a good dogman named Larry Keyes. He also refeered the second match. This was agtainst Steve Davis and Hickey Smith with their one-time winner Son. He won in 1 hour and 50 minutes against Nanny's Rusty. He was a classy fighting head dog, but Rocco started getting in the chest and at 42 minutes he quit. He would have jumped the pit, but his chest had be turned to Jell-O. Rocco's third match was against Rusty Jobe of Oklahoa. He used a son of his two-time winner Rat. There was never any question from the begining. Rocco started fast and kept the pressure up. The question was would Rat II quit or get bit down. He quit at 1 hour and  8 minutes. Shortly after the fight Danny Burton congratulated us and said "he was a real good dog,and iked his style, never shopping on aisle for two long". The feeling of raising a pup and winning a Championship with the dog is an unforgettable expoerience, We would like to thank Terry Townsend for making the breeding that produced Champion Rocco, and keeping the Nigerino bloodline going. He has done a very fine job and speaking of fine jobs, my wife Christi for doing such a fine job on her conditioning. Since Ch Rocco,we've been fortunate and lucky, I also would like to think we had good dogs, but the phrase "I have a dog that can whip that one" I will never go away.

THE LEGEND: MR. CARDENAS

Mr Cardenas

‘’I purchase T-BUD from Floyd when he was just a young dog. I was given a choice of either, MOE, MAVERICK, or T-BUD, and I chose T-BUD because I wanted a dog that had a very powerful body! Contrary to what people say, T-BUD is not a CHAMPION. As, a matter of fact, I never matched him! He was rolled over 20 times, and was able to keep all of them on the bottom, but I think someone wanted to hype his reputation up to make their pedigrees look better! He went on to produce dogs such as GR CH LAGANA, whose dam was a gyp that I got from Floyd, GR CH CUERVO, CH CUBO 4W, who beat Sorrell’s CH BUD LIGTH, CH ONE EYE, the great CH MAYA, and a truly uncountable number great dogs!’’

For all of you that don’t know Mr Cardenas, all I need to say is, ‘’Cardenas CH SHORTY!’’ So, sit down and get a confortable and pretend foa minute that you were a fly on the wall… this minute how it went down.
‘’First of ass I’d like to start off by saying that I,d like to give credit to Enrique Morfin. He taught me the true meaning of friendship, generosity, and how to carry myself as a gentleman. He was a man that was truly in it for the dogs, and always kept them first!’’

B.R.K.’S BEAUREGARD (CH SHORTY X CH MAYA)

My first dog a puppy was a that I had purchase from a man that was said to be  famous breeder of fighting dog, I had never seen a fighting dog, but I am the kind that had to have the very best that I could afford , so I was bragging about the merits of my young pup!

‘’I HATE BOBBY HALL AS THE BEST CONDITIONER THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN!’’

At a barbeque, I was showing off my puppy, when a small mutt walker too close to my puppy. I shouted, ‘’Get that dog away from my fighting dog before it gets hurt! I’m not responsible for what it does if your dog gets in range!’’ this happened on two other occasions, that day, and I was getting upset.

Garner’s ROSCO 2W ( A true T-BUD/ZACHARIA bred dog.)

‘’Someone decided to throw some scraps to my young dog, since I had held him in such high esteem, an I was proud of the adoration it was getting! Out of nowhere the mutt appeared and it bit my puppy on the nose! My puppy yelped out in pain, and urinate on the ground! I was so embarrassed that I told it ‘’ I gave you steak and potatoes all your life, and now you will eat dog food’’ it was not long after that I found myself on the yard of Ramiro Morales’’.
Ramiro had dogs that were rich in the old bloodline of Maurice Carver. These dogs were extremely game, and had a lot of ability. I had met Maurice as a young man in the game, and was impressed by the way he carried himself, and the great dogs that he owned! The dogs that I attained from Ramiro were great dogs, but I wants a stronger, more powerful frame. He suggested that I go to America and buy a dog from Mr, Boudreaux! I traveled to see Floyd, and a few other yards that were in the area, and was able to see that I had a lot to learn as a breeder.

Bo Wells CH SCALLAWAG ( A son of ZACHARIA)

My dealings with Floyd turned out to be a happy union. I acquired many good dogs, and was able to branch out and get dogs from Roland Fontenot. Roland sent Ramiro his BOOGER dog, and this dog produced 4xW, CH OLIAS as CH SAFARI (CHAFO). Both dogs were dead game! My BOOGER/MORFIN crosses were good dogs, but they were even better when I crossed them with the dogs I got from Floyd.

‘’IM THE ONLY PERSON THAT CONDITIONED, OR HANDLED CH SHORTY!’’

My personal favorite is ZACHARIA! I saw him rolled at Bo Well’s place, and he put one down in short order. He was the most complete dog that I ever owned, and produce many, many great dogs for me. As a matter of fact, I add a good dose of dogs of his breeding into my present day dogs. Some of my best dogs were down from the MAVERICK/ZACHARIA  crosses.

Back

My CH SHORTY dog was only campaigned by me. I used him against the Bellon Club, and G. Athens, and he gave me 2 other great wins. I let B. Hall use him once, but the show never went off, and it took me months to get him to send to dog back. The true pedigree on CH SHORTY is MOE x ROSE II. I got him as gift from Floyd Boudreaux when he was only 3 months old, and he was truly an ugly puppy. I have seen his son, BRUJO advertised as a GR CH. But this not true!!! He wow one show, and that was it.

I rate B. Hall as the best conditioner that I have ever seen! He had a knack for bringing a dog in ultimate shape, and the dog would be extremely powerful. The other dog never seemed to be able to get to their feet, against a dog that he conditioned, and I liked that fact. He was an advocate of the jenny, and had its uses down to a science.

Mr. Cardenas

"I still tinker around with a few dogs because breeding them will always be in my blood. I no longer campaign them, but I will admit that I miss the old days when we could. If I could leave one thing that I want dog people to remember me by, I would want them to remember to try and carry themselves as gentlemen. It will carry you a long way in the dog game."

INTERNACIONAL CHAMPION OUTCRO$$ & ASN RONALDINHA 3XW (GIS) (D.O.Y 2013 )

Ronaldinha was a light structured yellow bitch with black mask, bred by a good friend from a pedigree made up mostly from GR CH Mayday dogs. At the age of one, she was rolled with Machita, a bitch bred down from GR CH Buck blood, and proved to be a was very fast dog that fought the face and throat, never giving any chance for Machita. After 10 minutes, Machita was badly hurt. Ronaldinha proved to be a great dog, so me and my friend and partner, Pancho decided to buy her. We just knew that she’ll bring us satisfaction. With that in mind, we decided to take another look and challenged Gallus Kennels, one of the better kennels in our country. We actually asked him to bring his best bitch, and that is what he did. Gallus brought an experienced 42,5 lbs bitch, called Bellon. Our one year old Ronaldinha weighed only 37,4 lbs, but despite her disadvantage, she finished Bellon in only 30. We were very pleased with her performance. After some time a great opportunity has come up to participate in a major international convention. The negotiations with Revolution started right away and after some back and forth we agreed at 38,5 lbs. Most of the top notch dogmen from South America were also present: Imperios Kennels, Gallo Grijalva, Geg Kennel, JEJ Kennel, Revolution Kennels... The day of the show arrived and Ronaldinha looked really confident. She was going into Potenza, a dog bred down from GR CH Croata. Ronaldinha starts very well, right on the throat and biting really hard. Potenza tries to get on the top but Ronaldinha is on the muzzle all the time. Potencia rapidly starts to lose fuel and breathing heavily. By the 35 mark, Potenza is looking for an exit, with Ronaldinha keeping her from jumping the wall. At the 40 mark, Potenza is picked up by David. Ronaldinha makes her courtesy, looking for more, but the show is over. This is how our 17 months old dog earned his first international victory.
She was acclaimed by all the present as the best conditioned dog of the convention. We've been the first to travel, fight and win in an international convention. Ronaldinha's second outing was against a tough crew, T-Bone Kennel Club and Primates Kennels, a very dedicated team with many years of experience and numerous victories under their belt. They had won everything in Brazil! Everybody was afraid going into these guys...and so were we. We already lost a hard one against Primata's CH Kimbo with Adbizi in 2:37. Anyway, we agreed to go into their CH Lazara dog, but they brought another dog, a very strongEli bred dog known for being capable to do some serious damage. To make a long story short, Ronaldinha won in 43. After this show, nobody wanted any piece of her...but hey, there is always somebody with enough courage to do it. For her third, and final show, Ronaldinha faced one of the best bitches of the country, Abutry Kennels' Mell, a two time winner.
ABUTRY'S KENNEL MELL 2 XW 1XL
Both dogs going for the Championship title. All bets were against Ronaldinha, as Mell won both of her shows in less than 20, completely destroying her opponents. Anyway, Ronaldinha was very strong and in top shape. Wehad full confidence in her, but it proved to be a very hard fight, to be honest, the hardest fight she ever fought. Ronaldinha has played defense for about 30, but being the expert she become, she started going for the muzzle and eyes. Afer the 30 mark, Mell started to lose her enthusiasm andRonaldinha kicked in higher and higher until winning the show in 50. Unfortunatley, Ronaldinha didn't make it after the show, the damage to her chest was too severe and she was not able to fight any longer, this ending makes the story happy and sad at the same time. Ronaldinha, wherever you are, you will always be in my heart. You were not just another dog for me, you were my friend and partner! Thanks a lot for all! Please forgiveme, it was my fault! I LOVE YOU MY CHAMPION RONALDINHA!

CARRASCO´S GR CH KATRINA 5XW (3X B.I.S) D.O.Y BRASIL 2010 & 2011

We acquired Jadão's Katrina 1xW from our friend Jadão, after her first match. Her first one was in Trindade, GO , in our friend Kleber’s house from REBELK'S kennel, where Ch was also done ,thank you for everything, buddy , against the bitch Q Show Duro's Safira a bitch that hit very hard in the face. As soon as they were put apart ,Safira entered  toughly with her paw  into the face of Katrina, even with those harsh strikes, Katrina was not intimidated and did her game. Around 10 minutes after starting the match, Katrina pushed Safira into the corner of the pit and  managed to hit  her very tough at the rear, and did not let her go. It was when Q Show Hard's Kennel’s friend asked to take Safira out at the first 15 minutes of match, Safira did not confirmed the scratch of courtesy. Jadão's Katrina 1xW BIS, Safira 1xL (RIP).
Her second match was in Belém - PA, against Kindo's Xica Doida , this pedigree is of her sister (Ch Preta). Xica entered with a  very hard paw into Katrina’s throat, but it didn't take long for Katrina to dominate completely the match , and at the 47-minutes Katrina ended the game, and now is called, Carrasco’s Katrina 2xW 2xBIS, Xica Doida 2xW 1xL 2xBIS (RIP).
Soon after her second match, Malibu 2xW , which is said to be the best of Brazil in 18.5 Kg.We traveled to Brasilia to talk to Winner Kennel's in his house, because he wouldn't close any deal by telephone. We fixed the details of the match with a top of R$5,000.00 (five thousand reais) and it was determined that from that moment on, the one who refrained would have to pay the full premium. We had a few days to begin to train Katrina 2xW when we received a call from Winner Kennel's saying that Malibu had died. We were very sad, because we wanted very much to have that match, so we didn't think twice and dispensed the top of R$ 5,000.00 (five thousand reais) from Winner Kennel's.

T-BONE'S CLUB (TRINCADOS) CH. BALALAIKA
Regarding the third match, Kindo's Kennel commented that the Ch Balalaika 4xW 4xBIS , had received the title of "Dog of the Year 2009 ", but there were major difficulties for that match, because Balalaika was 18.1Kg and Katrina 18.5 Kg. Moreover, the competition would have to be performed in Goiania - GO, , the competitor’s home and trained by living legend (lenda viva), Dom Aylon. However, Zé Guilherme and I believe a lot in Katrina, so, we got to start with Ch Balalaika 4xW 4xBIS. She is considered the bitch with the heaviest mouth of Brazil of all time.
We faced many obstacles in Goiânia, impolite comments like , "Is this the little bitch which came to die? ". Dom Aylon made us wait for hours on a highway with Katrina inside the car, when he arrived he said: "What a whity bitch, isn’t she?" and gave an ironic smile. Then we drove more than 100km, and as soon as we pulled out of the car, Aylon again ironic: "Do you want a little time for your bitch?" and laughed ... We just rejected, and we weighed and washed the bitches. Katrina was perfect! She could annul Balalaika with a harsh paw into her face. Balalaika shouted and turned back, then Katrina worked hard, on the shoulders, rear and above all, hit her rudely into the belly. Both had done a scratch each, and when Katrina was ready to wrap up once more,  Balalaika could not resist the massacre anymore. She just evacuated and urinated. She was ready to die, then she was pulled to her second scratch, Aylon and the others did not believe. Balalaika stopped at the 32 minutes! Katrina was furious, she wanted to kill one more! Your scratch of courtesy was phenomenal! We burst into joy! Now CHAMPION CARRASCO’S KATRINA 2XBIS (2XRIP), was part of the story of national gamedog.
Katrina on the day he fought against ch Balalaika
After the match we received the bets of everybody, less Pancho who had given us game of 4 thousand to 2 thousand, however, he fled before the end of the match, and did not pay us.. For the fourth game, it did not take too long and we were challenged by our friend Ita kennel's with Neura (a bitch of Gr Ch Luthor bloodline), sister of Medusa 1xW, Pandora 1xW, three bitches from the same litter who were doing good campaign. We closed deal at 18.7kg, for Belém – PA. I could not prepare Katrina, so our friend Jadão  trained her. As Katrina had been trained for the second and third competition by me, we had created bonds of friendship, therefore, it was not difficult to understand that she felt my lack, and it was reflected negatively in her match. As soon as  I let her go, I realized that she was not well. In the previous matches, she always met the enemies before arriving in the midst of the pit, but with Neura was different, Katrina looked tired, slow, and the match had just started, approximately 5 minutes. For sure that competition would be tough, but surpassing all the adversities, Katrina won the game in the 52 minutes, making us even prouder with a scratch of fantastic courtesy as usually ! CH Katrina 4xW 2xBIS (2xRIP)(DOY 2010) and Neura 1xW 1xL!

J&J PERU KENNEL TUCA 1XW BIS
His grand championship was marked in Belém - PA against a bitch who came from Peru J & J PERU KENNEL TUCA 1XW BIS (littermate sister of Ch Lazaraand Lola 1XW) come to make Katrina the next victim, as always Katrina was to break everything showing that it is different and has various resources. Tuca began pounding up and playing very well but Katrina, it would stop the game face and hit the scratch, started playing and swapping beating, but not to defend but to beat, as always showing skill and brutality! Tuca was very strong and very game, but to win the Katrina and not only have heavy mouth, heart and game ... needs to be complete!

KILLER COMBINE'S RED VICTORIA (1XW)

On February 14th 2001 I had the honor and privilage to see the best female that has graced the face of this earth, in my opinion and everyone who saw her live, come into this world. I gave her the name Red Victoria, which means Red Victory and I could not have given her a better name, because she was the embodiment of the word victory. She was the foundation to Killer Combine’s yard and entire program. She could not have had a more befitting birthday than Valentine’s day, because she was the love of my life in dog form. I will forever miss her, and i will see her again, of that I am sure.

KILLER COMBINE

They say that behind every good man there is a good woman, I have always thought that this statement should be, behind every good man there are two even greater women, his mother and then his wife, for without the first you could not have met the second. I have always also thought that it is no different with bulldogs, mom is the main reason for their passion, not dad. And you must cross your good stock with a worthy female or the results will not be pleasing and quality is sure to go down instead of up which is the direction you should always try to head in life. They always refer to Vengeance as a Midnight dog and they completly obliviate his mother, as if she had nothing to do with his success. This upsets me to say the least. Red Victoria was a cross not a pure midnight dog, her mother Little Gift was one of the gamest females I have ever seen, and this is the reason why I picked ther for the breeding with my Ch Vaderdog. Little Gift was bred by one of the few kennels I truly respect and admire for being real and breeding their own always, the one and only, Stone City Kennels. She was given as a gift to their friend, hence her name. I approached Little Gift’s owner Matanza Boys Kennels and asked him if I would pay him 1000 dollars, would he let me borrow her for a breeding with my Vader dog. At the time I wasn’t a rich man so this was a big chunk for me, but worth it in my opinion. I had never bred Vader and I wanted to breed him to a great female before his fourth. My space was limited and I could not afford to hit or miss with a breeding. This was the way to go in my mind. You can’t go wrong when you breed with gameness as your number one priority. He also liked Vader so he told me 700 and a pup, but I wanted them all and I stuck with my offer untill he agreed.
GR CH KILLER COMBINE'S VENGEANCE (6XW) (ROM) (DOY 2009 & 2011)
Thank God I did that, it was a moment of clarity, Vader died game, and Red Victoria was the only one that survived in the litter. I know for sure that she is and will always be the main reason for all of Vengeance’s accomplishments, relentless style and absolute gameness behond words. To speak of her always brings a tear to my eye because she is and will forever be my favorite female hands down. Red as I always called her was the only one in a litter of 7 pups that made it to adulthood. Her sister and brother both died in a chain accident, but its all good because to be quite honest Red was all I ever needed and the proof is her son Vengeance, and what he has done for me and countless others; some trully deserve and appreciate it, and some are better off forgotten for their ungreatfullness and treachery. She was a handfull from day one, I would always find her crawling away from her mom. Three days after the birth the pups began to die one at a time. After four of them had died, I knew something was severely wrong so I called a good friend that was a vet, and he he told me to take the remaning three pups from the mom because her milk was probably bad, and he gave me a homemade milk recipe to feed the remaining pups. He is now deceased and I think I owe it to him to pass it down because he was a dog lover like us, and this will make him happy. It is simple but effective, one can of evaporated milk, one can of regular whole milk, one teaspoon of olive oil, one egg yolk, and a pinch of salt, then blend it. Red was unbearable, you could not pick up one of the other pups to feed them first because she would throw a fit, she always had to be the first to eat and this never changed, ever. It was a no brainer that she was my favorite even though she was chocolate red nose not black like her father Vader, and the rest of the Midnight clan. A friend at the time asked me why i prefered her and not the black ones. My answer was simple, I pick based on attitude not color. History has proved me right on this issue. By the time she was 5 months old she had a bodycount of chickens and whatever would come near her domain, including another pup about her age that belonged to my friend. This was a problem because I had her in a friends farm, along with the rest of my dogs, and she overstayed her welcome there. Now I had to bring this maniac to an apartment, and keep her hidden because at the time I was renting not the owner of 300 acres here in Mexico, where life is beautiful for dogmen, and where all my dogs peacefully reside now. I thought for sure I was going to get evicted. Well Red was so smart, it was like if she knew that she had to be cool there, and she was the best house dog you could ever ask for. I could only take her out at night, and she would not piss or poop in her kennel. After I would walk her, she would hang out in the house and sleep on the couch. The next morning I would walk her again around 5 am, and then she would go in the kennel by herself, I would close the door, and untiI I came back at 5 pm she wouldn’t even bark. By the time she was 1 year my situation got a little better, and I bought a small farm. When I took her there she went right back to being a hellraiser and the animal control officer at the property. It got to the point that I had to put her back on the chain, well she wore the chain down in 3 months, dug under the fence and went on the first of her many killing sprees, a good neighbor called me and I went to get her. I had no choice than to bring her back in the house, and install locks on all the screendoors so she could not push them open. My house looked like fort knocks. At 18 months I was dying to check her and when I did, she exceeded all of my expectations. All I had to do now was wait for an opponent. Her teeth where wore down from playing tug of war with her own chain, but I have always thought that pressure busts pipes and she was a pipe specialist. Everyone told me I was crazy for taking her out with wore down hardware, but I knew better. By the time she was 2 a friend contacted me that another friend had the one for her. A good daughter of Stan the Man, out of respect for them I will keep their names private because they dont enjoy the same freedoms and priviliges that I do here in Mexico, and it could harm them. The ones that know, know the rest is nonesense. Well when the day came it was just us three. Two real dogmen, no cornermen and one good referee. We where so exited that after we started we realized we had no buckets, water or sponges. It was ironman football all the way, the way we looked at it the better dog always wins regardless. Things went exactly how I thought they would, Red dominated from beginning to end, and the end came in 51 minutes, the Buckskin could not go, and Red’s courtesy looked like I had shot her out of a canon. My friend that was refereeing said that she was the finest dog he had ever seen, this was a great compliment coming from a dogman of his stature that had seen dogs the likes of Mayday, and Blackjack. After that I made the best decision I have ever made in these dogs. I got rid of the rest of the yard and kept only her because they could not hold a candle to such an amazing dog. I also changed the kennel name from Godzilla Kennels to Killer Combine in her honor, because that was what we where, a killer combination. I waited for her to come in heat, so that I could start over with her. I took the trip by myself when she was ready and I went to breed her to the only choice in my mind, my mentor and lifelong brother’s dog, Midnight Jr, her grandfather. She had six pups, and was a great mother. I kept four and sent two to a friend. I lost track of those two. Out of the four that I kept, I gave one to an individual I thought was a friend, and he ruined him, and let him die. Out of my three, the female got bit by a rattlesnake, and although she killed the snake, she also died. I had two boys now. Midnight Express, who lost game because of an error on my part chasing a sponge when he was clearly winning by a landslide. Na overseas friend bought him from me afterwards. The other is The Incomparable, as I call him today, Vengeance. An old timer told me once, the good ones always leave you with something great, how right he was. Gr Ch Vengeance ROM would have never done any of what he has been able to do if he would have come out of any female besides Red Victoria, and thats a fact. In 2004 Red Victoria passed away when she jumped through the window to chase a racoon she saw on the road. She got hit by a truck , and there was nothing I could do to save her. That was one of the worst days of my life and it has taken me years to come to terms with it, and accept it. The way I look at it now, she died being her, and doing what she loved. I want to go just like she did, game to the end and doing what I love. I learned many lessons from her. The rest is history and heresay.

DAVOR'S VILI ROM

I was not the owner or breeder of VILI and maybe I’m not “the right” person to write a story about this great animal. But since his breeder Davor never wrote anything about him, and besides Davor himself, very few dogmen know as much about VILI blood as I do. This is why I think my view on that dog will be just as good! I had the privilege to pet this animal with my own hands! I saw him in his 2nd match with my own eyes, I was bred my best producing bitch to him back in 1997. But, to start from the beginning. It was somewhere in the mid 80s when Davor from Croatia purchased a double breed daughter of Ljubomir’s THOR (aka CHICO), directly from Ljubomir Obradovic in Belgrade, Serbia. She was heavily, and I mean “heavily” inbred on Country Boys VENTJE. VENTJE was a well known dog in Holland, he won 2 in short order and lost 2, showing to be a deadgame specimen (R.I.P.). He lost his last vs Mr.Nobody’s CH ROCKY. This little inbred pup got by Davor was named RIA. She was crippled due to heavy inbreeding, her knees on her back legs dislocated every time she made a fast move. Because of that she was never rolled. Davor kept her in his house like a house pet. She was his main producing bitch, he always believed in her, because of the way she was bred.
NENAD'S RIA

At that time there weren’t many pit bulls in this area. The chances of finding a worthy stud dog for her, weren’t very good. After studying the pedigree of Ganja’s BLACK MAGIC (aka MAD MAX), Davor chose him to be bred to his RIA, to outcross her. He traveled to meet the owner of MAD MAX who was Sine Leskovar in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This is where the breeding was done. 2 months later RIA whelped a litter of 7 pups, all females. But Davor wanted males too! So sometime later he repeated that breeding.

That time he gets what he wanted, a few males and females. The second litter I believe was born somewhere in 1989. Besides VILI himself, in that 2nd litter also were born his brothers T&B Kennels CH. BRICK and Biser’s BULDO 1W. I saw both dogs with my own eyes in the box, both were very good. BULDO was one of the biggest, hardest mouthed dogs I have ever seen. He won his contracted match in only 9 min with one single hold under his opponents left shoulder, there was blood all over the arena. His opponent was a son of WHAM ROM and he didn’t have any chance. His owners picked him up, wisely. That match was at catchweight, BULDO was 31-32 kg (68-70.51bs) of raw power. He was a black dog with white feet, bulldog type build with an abnormally big head and extremely hard mouth. His owner went to a war that started here in our country and BULDO went with him to the front lines. His career as a match dog ended there. CH. BRICK on the other hand, was a brown dog, with a different style, he was smart, he could fight the defensive and offensive way when he needed to. He was matched 3 kg (61bs) over his true pit weight, he was fat. He was owned by Brothers Kennel from my town. He won 1, then lost to Ljubisa’s CH. KING. I saw that match. BRICK kicked KING’S ass for about a half hour. Then, being fat and in poor condition, he went down, overheated. KING was a true finisher, he pulls ahead and BRICK was picked up at 45 min. He scratched back very game on 3 wheels. His owners were disappointed when they got an offer from T&B Kennels to buy BRICK from them, off course Brothers agreed to sell him. T&B purchased BRICK and young SVRCO (VILI x BONNIE). They matched BRICK 2 more times at his proper weight 24.5 kg (541bs). I saw his last match for Championship in Sinj. BRICK went into Barac’s PINKY who was a 2X winner at that time and IX loser. They both were 2x winners, and they both lost lx against the same dog, Ljubisa’s CH. KING. BRICK won Championship over PINKY fair and square in lhr 45min, both scratched game at the end. Before to go back to VILI, I just want to mention few more females which were from those 2 breedings of BLACK MAGIC x RIA. One red female was sold to Silvio from Zadar. He named her IRA and after her schooling was over, he decided to keep her as his main brood bitch. His main stud dog was WHAM a 2W at the time and Silvio bred them. He got several litters out of WHAM and IRA. Most known dogs from these are Ljubisa’s CH.

KING (the dog who beat CH. BRICK), Galesich’s CH. MEGY 3W, Galesich’s RAY 2W 1L and Kuba’s CHARLIE 1W 1L. Two females from BLACK MAGIC x RIA litter went to Serbia. One black bitch named MEGY won 1 in short order then lost game to Bijeljina Boys CH. BELA in lhr 25min. Mr. Radonjic and many other old timers say that match was one of the greatest matches ever. I saw that match on videotape. MEGY was double smaller than CH. BELA, in any case BELA was too smart to lose that match, MEGY scratched back game. Another female which was exported to Serbia was named MEXY. All I know about her is that she produced one good dog. Djindja’s GR. CH. JEEP 6W, who lost his 7th vs Montenegro’s CH. JOCKER.
I know of 2 more sisters to VILI, one is Davor’s KORA. I saw her match when she lost against David’s CH. ORCA. Funny match, ORCA was in great shape, ideal pit weight at 23 kg (50.51bs). Big females, but KORA was fat at that weight. She looked as was full of puppies! I guess her true weight was 421bs. KORA was picked up at 45 min and she scratched back. Last sister of VILI I know about is GINA. She is known because she produced Ljuzda Kennels CH. PATAK 3W 1L ( 2 .05), when was breed to VILI. Now let’s go back to VILI, to understand the true point of the VILI story, I wanted you to know a little bit more about his littermates and bloodline who runs behind him.
I believe Davor started schooling VILI when he was only 15 months old. He liked him from the start more than his other littermates, he saw that VILI is the “special” dog. VILI was a beautiful animal, tall, heavy boned, perfect back, shining black color, white feet and meaningfull red eyes. I don’t know much about his schooling days, but my friend Edo from GB Kennels, who is a close friend to Davor told me that VILI was rolled once into his brother CH. BRICK for 30 min. BRICK was game and bigger, but couldn’t keep VILI off. Davor sold BRICK after, but he kept VILI in his yard. It have been said that BRICK, being bigger, dominated for 20min. After that VILI kicked his ass and Davor stopped the roll there to save BRICK because VILI wanted to kill him. VILI was roled few times but I don’t know much about that, only that he was Davor’s favourite. Anyway, VILI won his first contracted fight at 22.5 kg (49.51bs). He won in a half hour over T&B Kennels ART. I didn’t saw that match, but I heard VILI totally outclassed ART. I saw the 2nd match of VILI. Well, truly there was a disaster around that match. The match was supposed to be in Pag, a beautiful island where Davor and his VILI lived. Lots of dogmens arrived to see that match. VILI was set to go into Wermacht Kennels’ SATAN there on that little Island. But unfortunately there was so many of us arrived in cars on an island as small as Pag is, more than 200 people had arrived in a village with 10 houses! Hahaha, we were so suspicious to everybody and of course the Special Police Forces arrived and arrested us all before the match even started. They didn’t know what was going on and after a few hours in the Police Station they let us and dogs go. Most of the dogmen were tired and headed back home, a few of us were wondering if the match was still going to happen or not? The owners of the dogs talked it over. Many things were against SATAN that night, he was tired and lighter because of all the troubles, but his owner Buda decided to let him go anyway.
CH T & B KENNELS' BRICK 3W 1L
We sat in 4 or 5 cars with the 2 opponents and headed to Zadar in Silvio’s yard to face those dogs. When we arrived it was 2 in the morning. The dogs were weighed and SATAN was 2.5 kg (5.51bs) lighter than VILI. It was not fair to go, but Buda decided to try anyway. Of course, it was an easy one for VILI. He won without any problems in 13 mins, SATAN was picked up to be saved. What did I think about VILI when I saw him go then? Many people think he was just a one way destroyer because his matches were short. This is not true or right. The truth is that many of his offspring are strictly offensive, hard driving dogs, but VILI wasn’t so! He was a complete bulldog, he would go for the head at the start to learn what his opponent was going to do, he was this smart of a dog. When he saw that his opponent was too weak for him, he started with a great finish. He had a hard mouth and was a very talented and fast fighter. Well, I would say one of the best I’d ever seen and I’ve seen plenty, you can believe that! VILI had great air, he was easy to condition. Above all, he was “super powered”, an extremely naturally strong dog! And that characteristic is still today a main trademark of the VILI bloodline –The Super Power! VILI bred dogs usually come in black, with white chest and paws, or they come in red with white chest and paws. All are heavy boned, with big heads and a very heavy muscle structure. They all have a very rough temper, they are never shy with humans, it’s more often they act the other way. There were rumors back then that a match of the year was to be held - Ljubisa’s CH. KING vs VILI 2W. That rumor was somewhere in 93’, but the match didn’t happen. Davor never matched any dog after that. He decided to be a breeder only and had very good success with VILI as a stud dog. I think Davor should try to get VILI at least a Championship title because he was a great match dog in my eyes. But Davor decided to use him only as his main stud dog, not to risk him. At time when VILI was 7 or 8 yrs old, a man from Italy arrived in Davor’s yard. His name was Di Gregorio and he bought VILI and his sister KORA from Davor for an extremely large amount of money and took them both to South Italy.
